“Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them,

and they that are great exercise authority upon them.

But it shall not be so among you:

but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;

And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:

Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto,

but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:25-28, KJV)

The word the Athenians used for their Assembly was Ekklesia, the same word used in the New Testament for Church
(and it is the greatest philological irony in all of Western history that this word,
which connoted equal participation in all deliberation by all members,
came to designate a kind of self-perpetuating, self-protective Spartan gerousia -
which would have seemed patent nonsense to Greek-speaking Christians of New Testament times,
who believed themselves to be equal members of their Assembly.)

DISBAND THE PE CORPORATION(S) - IT'S ABOUT TIME!

It has been about a year since His Eminence, Demetrios, the Greek Orthodox Archbishop of the United States of America, said the following:

"The ecclesiastical charter that was issued on April 10, 2010 is to be considered inapplicable and consequently withdrawn. Similarly, the Prophet Elias corporation will be formally dissolved and no separate trade names will be filed with the State of Utah for Holy Trinity and  Prophet Elias".

To date there has been been no attempt from the local clergy or any of their appointed Parish Councils to follow the directive from the Holy Synod and the Archbishop with regard to the dissolution of the corporations filed with the State of Utah in the name of Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church.

We are sure that this parish council finally will act on the Archbishop's directives and work toward the dissolution of BOTH ILLEGAL ENTITIES immediately. We further contend that Mr. Mylonakis, having created an illegal, quasi-related church entity in the name of one of the assets of this community, will either dissolve the corporation he set up, forthwith, or he will and MUST resign from the parish council, forthwith!

It is further distressing that long-time parishioners, one of whom was named as an archon, should also have set up a similarly illegal entity.

It is well past time for both to be disbanded. The community as a whole has spoken - SEVERAL TIMES, IN FACT - that it does not wish to be divided.

Nor has any general assembly given any of these people authority to set up a corporation describing a separate church entity in this community. Again we say, if you want YOUR OWN CHURCH, GO BUILD ONE! You won't get away with attempting to take one, on behalf of a minority, from the united Greek Orthodox Community of Greater Salt Lake!

Their "boss and mentor",Fr. Kouremetis was feverishly preparing the "split",even Fr. Gilbert had it as a "done deal".
Now both of them ought to take the "agents" downtown and DISSOLVE the illegal corporations at once!

Perhaps these registered principals can get an Ecclesiastical Charter to take over the Mormon Temple downtown too? It's time for these principals to move on to bigger and better schemes now that they
have turned our once great community into a fantastic joke. And because these principals are acting under the orders of the Bishop, the law just won't apply to them since under a Theocracy they can do whatever they want due to the separation of Church & State.
I had no idea how fun it would be to live under a Theocracy. It almost makes me want to pick up and move to Iran or Afghanistan. But why move there since we are already living in Metropolitinstan?
