“Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them,

and they that are great exercise authority upon them.

But it shall not be so among you:

but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;

And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:

Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto,

but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:25-28, KJV)

The word the Athenians used for their Assembly was Ekklesia, the same word used in the New Testament for Church
(and it is the greatest philological irony in all of Western history that this word,
which connoted equal participation in all deliberation by all members,
came to designate a kind of self-perpetuating, self-protective Spartan gerousia -
which would have seemed patent nonsense to Greek-speaking Christians of New Testament times,
who believed themselves to be equal members of their Assembly.)

Christian Love???

Dear Fellow Parishioners,

There is a parish nearby that received the two attached letters.

Such eloquence!!! Is there any doubt in any reader’s mind that Johnny, Jack and Chivas were co-authors of these συχαμένα letters.

These are letters that are written by a Hierarch of our faith that exude love, compassion, understanding of current economic conditions, etc.

The Denver Metropolitan will be known for his grasp of the issues and his expeditious way of dealing with them in a Christian way. He will also be known as being capable of destroying Greek Orthodox parishes single handedly and from within.

Have a nice time reading this drivel, poppycock, and claptrap.

Nick

P.S. I cannot wait to receive a copy of his letter to us as prefaced by our own Fr. Michael. It should also be a work of art.

What would Jesus do? Surely NOT what his "apostolic" successor is doing!

We can see here that the "Metropolitan" is concerned with one thing and one thing only. MONEY. May Christ forgive him.
