“Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them,

and they that are great exercise authority upon them.

But it shall not be so among you:

but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;

And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:

Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto,

but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:25-28, KJV)

The word the Athenians used for their Assembly was Ekklesia, the same word used in the New Testament for Church
(and it is the greatest philological irony in all of Western history that this word,
which connoted equal participation in all deliberation by all members,
came to designate a kind of self-perpetuating, self-protective Spartan gerousia -
which would have seemed patent nonsense to Greek-speaking Christians of New Testament times,
who believed themselves to be equal members of their Assembly.)

BE AT THE SPECIAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY. ATTEND. VOTE NO !!!!!

Dear All,

I received another piece of mail from the GOCGSL parish council. It was the November 16, 2011 letter, postmarked 11/17/11.  Most importantly it had  a golden rod colored 3” by 8.5” inset, which threatens “trespasser” status to those who are not in the list and attend the Special General Assembly.

None of us who will be there are trespassers under the state statute or the Holladay ordinances.  We are the owners of that facility.  They are attempting to highjack our facilities.  We are there to attend the special general assembly which must be conducted in accordance with Roberts Rules of Order.  Our lawyers will be there.  The news media will be there. Please bring cameras to record this tragedy.

Our message should be clear.

They are highjacking our Church-Occupy Prophet Elias.

All of us should be there and get into the meeting.

BE THERE. ATTEND. VOTE NO.

No matter how this vote turns out tomorrow I'm afraid that no one will be a winner. The Denver master plan was to have us all fight against each other and to divide us. Now we have the police at our meetings to keep the peace? We are all angry at each other and those that created the plan to divide us are laughing their heads off because we took the bait without question. The only positive thing is they did not divide us down the center as I believe a fair vote tomorrow will show that the vast majority of us will vote no. If we would have been allowed to meet and talk about our concerns as a group we could have turned this entire situation into a win win outcome for both sides. But, a small group that thinks they know what is best for the majority keeps pulling us around by a dog leash.
You can only pull on a dogs leash so hard before the dog turns around and attacks you. Where is the wisdom that we expect to find in our spiritual leaders?

The lies continue. They do not want people at this Parish assembly. Look what happened at the last one in May 2010, Mr. Nick Sefakis as chairman allowed people to speak. And the truth was spoken. This time, lies yes, truth no.

How is it possibly that we have let this plague on our community go so long that our clergy feel they have the right to ban the likes of Con Skedros from any kind of General Assembly? The only thing the men named to be banned from this assembly are guilty of is having the intestinal fortitude to question the operations and decisions of the Parish Council and try to find peaceful and legal answers to these questions. The most reasonable way to find a solution for both sides is to hold a free and open General Assembly, where no member is banned! Then both sides live by the majority rule.
