“Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them,

and they that are great exercise authority upon them.

But it shall not be so among you:

but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;

And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:

Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto,

but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:25-28, KJV)

The word the Athenians used for their Assembly was Ekklesia, the same word used in the New Testament for Church
(and it is the greatest philological irony in all of Western history that this word,
which connoted equal participation in all deliberation by all members,
came to designate a kind of self-perpetuating, self-protective Spartan gerousia -
which would have seemed patent nonsense to Greek-speaking Christians of New Testament times,
who believed themselves to be equal members of their Assembly.)

Recent Developments

On three separate occasions, (May 22 and 25 and June 2, 2011) I e-mailed the chancellor of our Metropolis asking whether he would be coming to Salt Lake for a general assembly.  On June 2, 2011 I received a courtesy copy e-mail with a response.  This e-mail was originally sent to Fr. Michael and Fr. Matthew asking them to, "Please address his question, and advise him of the proper order for these matters.

I subsequently received a phone call on Friday, June 3, 2011 from Phill Floor who was directed to respond to my question.  According to Mr. Floor, Fr. Luke will be in Salt Lake City on June 22, 2011 for a general assembly.  In addition, Mr. Floor stated that only those who pledged by March 31, 2011 would be allowed to participate in this general assembly.  This begs the question:  What about those who have pledged using the new white pledge form which was distributed after March 31, 2011?

I would like to publicly thank our two priests for responding to the request of the chancellor of the Metropolis of Denver in advising me on the proper order of these matters.

The blue-yellow, illegal though it was, is the de facto "legal" form. This is NOT just or fair by any standard. Those who waited, knowing how fixed the whole system has been, are once again disenfranchised. Surprised? hardly...

This Saturday June 11th is the Saturday of the Souls, the most important of all the Saturday of the Souls. Do you see this service listed in any of the church bulletins? NO! Why? I'm sure the answer will be loaded with buckshot. Our employees need to spend more time on Orthodoxy and less time on interior design. I don't remember us hiring Martha Stewart. Employees elsewhere get FIRED for a lot less. And last, Father Luke is coming and when he gets here he will make a "hole in the water". Lord have mercy on us.

Who is Phil Floor to issue dictates? When will the corrupt "parish council" resign?

Let the revolution begin.
